Ten Months

Another month has flown by and Piper is 10 months old! Our baby girl becomes more mobile with each day. She has the army crawl down and can quickly move around the house now, which means we have to keep a close eye on her! She notices, and will usually try to eat, any specks that she finds on the ground. This, combined with the boys’ messy eating, means that I must sweep under the table after each meal. At least she is motivating me to keep my floors clean! 😉
Piper has started pulling up on lower surfaces, and can go from crawling back to a sitting position. Her favorite way to sleep is with her bottom in the air, just like her brothers did as babies. Her eight teeth are becoming more prominent and she has an adorable little gap between her two front teeth. She is gaining weight slowly but steadily, and currently weighs in at about 18 pounds.
After taking Piper to the neurologist and ophthalmologist, we’ve learned that she appears to have congenital ptosis. The muscle which lifts her left eyelid did not develop fully, which causes it to droop a little. So far, her vision development is on track, and we have just started patching her right eye for 30 minutes a day to help her left eye keep up in development.
I love the photos I was able to get of her this month. Her belly and little chunky rolls are just too cute. She was fascinated by all the leaves and flowers outside, and, of course, kept trying to taste those as well.
