Photo-a-Day // Week 18

5 May — I took this photo as we were walking back to Tyler & Antje’s house after enjoying dinner at a Biergarten along the Rhein river.

4 May — This is the room at Wartburg Castle in Eisenach where Martin Luther began to translate the Bible into German. It was fascinating to learn that while Martin Luther’s work was instrumental in making the Bible accessible to the people, it also unified many dialects of the German language into one.

3 May — We had an amazing view of Wartburg Castle from our top floor hotel room.

2 May — Piper enjoying the sunshine and a cracker by the Niederwalddenkmal in Rüdesheim. This monument was built in the 1870s and commemorates the unification of Germany.

1 May — The beautiful Marktkirche in Wiesbaden.

30 April — Peacocks roam the grounds of the Waldgasthof Wildbad where we stayed one night outside of Rothenburg.

29 April — Beautiful architecture in medieval Rothenburg ob der Tauber.
